四月，春回大地，万物复苏。校园内繁花似锦，正是读书的好时光。在这个充满生机的季节，我们迎来了第29个世界读书日。
自3月底启动的2024华外“书香节”系列活动仍在火热进行中。阅读，是一场跨越时空的对话，是一次心灵的旅行，正如本次书香节活动的主题——“看世界，阅未来”，借着书籍，我们探索更加广阔的世界，阅读充满想象力的未来。
As spring comes, everything comes to life which is also good time for reading, to celebrate the 29th World Book Day.
The series of events of reading that started at the end of March are still ongoing in HW. Reading is a conversation across time and space, a journey of the spirit, just like the theme of the book festival - "To see the world, to read the future", through books, we explore a broader world, read the future the full of imagination.
BOOK EXCHANGE & BOOK DONATION
4月8日至18日图书募集期间，课间和课后，同学们带着闲置的图书来到图书馆排起长龙，兴奋地分享自己的“宝贝”。
本次换书集市活动中，图书馆一共收集到1535本书籍。其中，宋汶远、王金熙、简润通、吕涔、梁梓皓、单子明等同学在参加活动时，将自己的闲置图书无偿捐赠，为本次活动提供了大力的支持。
We surprisedly got 1,535 from students for the book exchange fair. Several of the students even donated their books for free. It was always lined up during the recess or after class in library just for book donation.
华外见证了同学们的成长和改变，图书馆拍了拍你，说：快来讲一讲你和华外的故事吧！
The school has witnessed the growth and change of the students. The library is open for you to tell us your stories in HW.
"The Belt and Road Initiative"
“一带一路”是中国与世界沟通的桥梁，是祖国繁荣与强大的象征，是历史的传承与发展。在一带一路主题活动中，同学们可以通过书籍、视频、朗读、绘画、写作等多种方式弘扬丝路精神，歌颂伟大祖国。
The "The Belt and Road Initiative" is a bridge of communication between China and the world. It's a symbol of the prosperity and strength of our motherland, the inheritance and development of China's history. Through reading, video shooting, painting and writing, students can express thoughts, feelings and sentiments about the "The Belt and Road Initiative" in library.
在4月18日、22日，创新融合部PYP一年级和双语中学部七年级的同学们分别参与了由华南地区图书馆联盟发起的粤港澳桂琼“4·23共读半小时”活动，同学们诵读了古诗《静夜思》和《写给未来的你》，共同参加了这场逾62万人共同参与的活动。
On April 18 and 22, students from PYP G1 and CEP G7 participated in the activity of "4·23 Reading Half Hour Together" initiated by the South China Regional Library Consortium that involved over 62,000 people.

过往的一年，图书馆新增图书2605册，生均新增1.13册，总计馆藏60306册；
过往的一年，图书馆开放了300天，每周开放53个小时，累计开放约2438个小时，累计借阅书籍13812次；
志愿者服务累计时长501.56个小时
In the past year, the library added 2,605 new books, or 1.13 books per student, for a total collection of 60,306 books.
In the past year, the library was open for 300 days, 53 hours per week, a total of about 2,438 hours, 13,812 books have been borrowed and 501.56 hours of volunteer service.
