High quality education is not about filling a bucket of water, but about lighting a fire. In IHP, teachers always plan activities according to the curriculum to stimulate students' interest in learning and increase their motivation to learn. When children realize that learning is no longer boring and tedious, but full of fun and excitement, they will be able to learn on their own actively without being supervised by their parents or pushed by their teachers, and will truly become the outstanding lifelong learners.


真正的教育,不是注满一桶水,而是点燃一把火。在IHP,老师们会根据课程安排悉心策划对应的活动,来激发学生们的学习兴趣,提高他们的学习内驱力。当孩子们意识到学习不再是枯燥乏味的,而是充满乐趣与期待时,他们才能不用家长逼,老师催,也能实现主动学习,自主学习,真正地成为卓尔不群的终身学习者。

In order to further arouse students' enthusiasm and motivation for learning science, IHP has organized an Math and Science Fair Week from October 16 to October 19, 2023, covering the major fields of Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. By participating in various challenging and interesting events, students were able to learn and consolidate their scientific knowledge in different fields and apply it to the realistic situationsimproving their practical skill and problem-solving abilities.

为了进一步唤起学生们对理科学习的热情与动力,2023年10月16日~10月19日,IHP精心打造了一次科创周活动,涵盖数学、生物学、化学、物理学各大领域。学生们通过参与各种富有挑战性和趣味性的项目,学习和巩固不同领域的理科知识,并将其应用到真实的场景中,提高自己的实际应用能力和解决问题技能。

Welcome to our Math and Science Fair! We are so excited to showcase the engaging activities that provided opportunities for participants to explore math concepts and problem-solving skills in a fun & interactive way including "Square It", "Blokus" and "Sudoku". These activities incorporates geometry, logical reasoning, spatial reasoning together, and require critical thinking, planning, as well as visualization skills.

本年度科创周的数学活动“组成正方形”、“俄罗斯方块棋”以及“数独游戏”旨在激发学生对数学学习的兴趣和创造力,引导学生在活动中感受数学世界的奇妙。让每一个学生都能在活动中得到锻炼,得到发展,使学生真正走进数学、亲近数学,在数学中得到快乐,提升空间逻辑思维素养,培养他们解决问题的能力。

In this session, students inquired into the science of physics to practice building solar cars, solar table lamp, biological power generation, street lamp, recoil car, magnetic trolley and many other small projects. Students used materials provided in the set, read the instruction to figure out how to connect the parts into a given design. Each projects had an educational part in it. Students not only got entertained but also learned about magnets, solar energy, electrical current and other topics of physics course.

在这里,学生探究物理科学,练习制作太阳能汽车、太阳能台灯、生物发电、路灯、反冲车、磁力小车等等。学生使用教材中提供的资料,阅读双语说明,找出将各个部件连接成一个特定设计的方式。每个项目都极具教育意义学生们不仅能寓教于乐,还能学到磁铁、太阳能、电流等各种物理课程的知识

Mr. Xiao used an air cannon in this activity to teach students about the knowledge of fluid dynamics. Dry ice was also used in this session for the demonstration to make sure the students could more easily witness the phenomena of sublimationliquefaction, and condensation. What's more, Mr. Xiao also provided students with exciting experience of assembling and operating a robotic arm. During this process, students could have a deeper understanding of dynamics, mechanics and programming, experiencing the beauty of physics.

肖老师在本次活动中利用空气炮,向学生讲述流体动力学的威力。演示过程还运用了干冰,让学生在玩的过程中亲眼目睹了物态变化中的升华-液化-凝华现象。除了空气炮,肖老师还给学生带来了机械臂组装和操作体验。学生在动手实践中,对于力学、简单机械和编程有了更深的理解,在做中学的同时感受物理之美。

Through teaching students to make some cookies, Mr. Evans provided students with a fundamental comprehension of the chemistry that underpins the art of cooking. He has uncovered the magic behind the culinary phenomena such as caramelization, the Maillard reaction, and acid-base interactions. Every ingredient and technique all serves as a testament to the captivating interplay of science and flavor. This interesting baking teaching not only enhanced our culinary prowess but also enable us to gain a deeper understanding of the intricate science concealed within the realm of food.

Mr. Evans以曲奇烘焙的方式,让学生从根本上了解烹饪艺术的化学基础,沉浸式探索关于美食背后的化学原理,揭开烘焙背后的奥秘,如:焦糖化、美拉德反应和酸碱相互作用等。在这里,每一种配料和烘焙技术都与科学息息相关有趣的烘焙教学,让学生在提升自己生活技能的同时还深刻认识到隐藏在食物领域中的科学知识

Every question is the beginning of a harvest and every whim is an expression of our curiosity about the world. This is a wonderful science feast, which creates a vibrant atmosphere of science learning in the whole school. The seeds of "exploration, practice and innovation" are taking root and growing in the hearts of IHP students. We hoped that students will continue to observe and explore the world from different perspectives with critical thinking, and constantly explore the novel, mysterious and charming world of science in their future study and life.


每一个问号都是收获的开始,每一次奇思妙想都是我们对世界好奇的表达。这是一场精彩纷呈的理科盛宴,在全校范围内营造出充满活力的理科学习氛围。“探索、实践、创新”的种子也正在IHP学子的心中生根发芽,茁壮成长。希望同学们在日后的学习生活中,也能继续以不同的视角和批判性的思维去观察世界、探索世界,勇敢地打开新奇、神秘而又充满魅力的科创大门。
