在一起，共克时艰；再一起，春暖花开 | 致全校师生员工及学生家长的一封信
尊敬的学生家长们、敬爱的教职员工们、亲爱的同学们：
今日正逢冬至。过了这一天，华夏大地就要进入寒冬时节了。这几天的广州阳光明媚，羊城也逐渐变成了“阳城”。此刻，或许你、你的家人、朋友正在经受身体的不适。在此，我们真诚地祝福大家一切安好，尽量“免阳”或早日“阳康”。
“羊群”数量的增加没有影响学校正常的教学秩序。很多“身入羊圈”的老师仍然满怀“热情”，带着“水泥鼻、吞刀嗓”坚持给学生上网课，很多身体不舒服的同学，依然端坐在书桌前认真学习。仁爱、敬业是华外教师的坚守，好奇、坚毅是华外学子的品格。但我们也倡导，身体是一切的根本，要把健康放在第一位。若有不适症状，请及时休息。
回首过往三年，我们经历了一轮又一轮的“大考”。但我们能够理直气壮地说，三年里，全体华外师生员工和家长坚韧不拔、众志成城，坚定向前，克服了抱怨，勇于面对未知，没有让疫情的潮水冲散人心！
在一起，我们就是华外；再一起，华外就是我们！
近期，教育局对学校期末及寒假工作做出了指引。本学期的教学工作进入尾声，学校将于2023年1月7日开始放寒假，于2月6日正式开学。在放假前，学校会按照工作计划，认真做好收尾工作和做好寒假安排，并通过线上有序安排教学质量监测、学生表彰、学期总结、散学典礼等工作。学校财务部门也会认真核算，在放假前完成各项退费。寒假期间，老师们也会不定时组织一些线上的班级小活动，家校携手，共度“寒冬”。
每一次经历都是一种成长。“惟其艰难，方显勇毅；惟其磨砺，始得玉成。”放置在更长远的历史坐标中看，没有哪一代人的成长是容易的。但是，只要我们在一起，有什么困难不能克服？
感谢所有华外教师！你们迅速切换状态，让线上线下教学无缝对接，确保学生“停课不停学”。特别是毕业班的老师们，过去的几个月来，你们不能周全地照顾家人，以校为家，默默奉献，与华外学子们同坚守、共奋斗，彰显了华外教师仁爱和敬业的品质，你们是好样的！
感谢所有华外学子！学习环境的改变，没有打乱你们的节奏。你们好奇专注、思辨坚毅，努力完成各项学习任务，帮助父母完成力所能及的家务，为家庭分担一份责任，你们太棒了！
感谢所有华外员工！你们坚持每天在校园和线上辛勤工作，保障着教学的秩序、保持着校园的清洁、维护着设施的运转、预防着病毒的滋生，为师生们守护着美丽的家园，你们辛苦了！
感谢所有华外家长！对于学校的各项举措，你们总是能够响应配合，你们的理解、支持，给了学校前行的动力。特殊时期，家校同心，你们努力做好孩子的陪伴者、引导者、守护者，全力为孩子营造良好的学习和成长环境，为你们点赞！
亲爱的华外学子们，我们做的所有工作，老师、家长的所有努力，都是为了尽量让你不受干扰，健康成长。我们可以鼓励你、陪伴你，却无法代替你。不论道路多么艰难，还是需要你们自己行走，自己长大。所有的道路都不平坦，但上天往往不会辜负一个不断前行的人，越努力，越幸运。
相信自己，相信未来，时光会看见每一份努力。希望所有华外人保重身体，调整心情，让我们一同期待春暖花开！

Waiting for you in Spring
Dear FLS community,
Greetings!
Winter solstice is the day with longest night and shortest day in a year. It also marks the beginning of the coldest season. Hereby, We are sending our warmest wishes to you and your family at this special period of time for your health in sunnily chilly Guangzhou.
We are so grateful and touched that many teachers and staff did not stop working even when they were sick, and many students did not stop learning as well. However, we also recommend that please stay healthy, take care of yourself and your family.
This semester is coming to an end. The winter break will start from January 7, 2023 and end on February 5. The February 6 will be the first school day of next semester. All the school work will be completed before January 6. With all your dedication and support, we will make semester a special and successful one!
We appreciate our teachers. Thank you for your professional competence and dedication. You are always prepared for teaching whether it’s online or on site. The teachers of the graduating class, please receive our special gratitude for being unable to take care of your families in the past few months, as you have spent most of your time at school instead of home.
We appreciate our students. We believe that the change of the learning environment will not affect your focus and persistence on exploring new knowledge. We are proud that you were helping your parents on housework and sharing your responsibilities for your family.
We appreciate our staff. You keep the campus clean, the facilities well-functioned, prevent the breeding of virus, support online teaching and take good care of our beautiful school.
We appreciate our students’ parents. You are always responsive to the school's initiatives, without your understanding and support we cannot make a successful semester. You try your best to be a good companion for your children who keep learning from home, and do your best to take care of your family. You are the best!
Dear students, we are working hard, and we would like to see you are working hard too. Being the center of school also means being self-disciplined. As it goes, there is a will, there is a way.
We will wait for you in next Spring.
